Extruders: Wade's vs. Greg's
I have been getting a lot of questions about rapid prototyped extruders. There are a few options for mounting your hot end. The Prusa Mendel typically uses either the Wade's or Greg's extruder in its construction. I have printed both of the aforementioned extruders and can attest to the strong build quality of both. They are similar is function, but vary in design. The Greg's extruder is the newest of the two. It requires slightly less hardware to build. As with other parts printed on a MakerBot, or Mendel there might be some adjustments (e.g., drilling) needed for the nuts and bolts to fit properly.
