MidWest RepRap Fest Wrap Up

Finally a long overdue post about the road trip to the MidWest RepRap Fest! It's been almost a month since the RepRappers gathered to show off their 3D printers, but here is the post that I promised on Fabbr's experience at the event.  There was quite a big turnout. People came with printers big and small. There were many variants of the RepRap printers. It was interesting to meet fellow hobbyists and see what they had done to customize their machines.

Here's the Fabbr booth with the Prusa i3 and our in-house design the Unitize3D (U3D). We've built several version of the RepRap Prusa i2, and the i3, among other 3D printers. The U3D has gone through several forms, but the one pictured here is the beta version that we were ready to display. It's been a lot of hard work and a long time coming. Ryan designed and built the U3D himself. He would tell you that it is an ongoing and constantly evolving process. It has undergone several changes and still needs to go through additional testing before it is out of the beta phase.

Overall the MidWest RepRap Fest was a good experience. We ran out of flyers pretty quickly, so that's a good sign! Of course, on the way out Ryan snagged one of these cool t-shirts.
